Lisa is a native of North Adams, who returned to the area in 2003. In 2009, Lisa left her corporate job to create a life centered around healing for herself and for others. Her foundation for teaching yoga is the 200 hour teacher training completed with Jennifer Yarro at Frog Lotus in 2013. In Lisa’s words, “one of the most intensive and heart opening experiences of my life]. With additional certifications in Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga and Curvy Yoga, she is dedicated to serving and bringing the healing elements of yoga to a diverse range of students.
Lisa's teaching is also informed by three years of training at Spirit Hollow where she completed Seeing with the Heart, a course in core shamanism. She is a Reiki Master in the Usui Reiki tradition. Lisa has also been apprenticed to Tonya Lemos of the Blazing Star Herbal School where she completed the beginner/intermediate apprenticeship and is currently completing the requirements for the advanced certification. Deeply connected to the landscape, the people, animals and the plants of these Berkshire Hills, Lisa brings a new meaning to the term “Local”.
In 2012, Lisa suffered a serious injury. She was not allowed to walk at all for three months and mobility was severely limited for six months. During this time, she had personal experience with the ways that Yoga and Reiki and other forms of healing work can support and enhance recovery. She is passionate about the Mind Body Connection and how important it is in creating and sustaining wellness.
Lisa can often be found out in the community representing Frog Lotus Yoga. Since completing her yoga teacher training she has been a regularly featured teacher at the Mary Spitzer Center bringing yoga to a very committed and lively group of senior yogis, as well at Brayton School where she offered a weekly class for teachers. She has also participated in several community healing events offering Reiki and energy work. Lisa graces us with her wisdom and practice for specialty classes and workshops at FLY. Not to be missed!
